The Greatest Stories Ever Told - Week 2

The Greatest Stories Ever Told| Lazarus and the Rich Man

Lazarus & the Rich Man: It’s the only parable Jesus ever told that included a first name. But by the end of the story, Lazarus was no longer poor and the rich man was begging for mercy.

The Good Samaritan: This parable teaches us that everyone is our neighbor. When we help those who can’t help themselves, we are loving God with all of our being and loving our neighbor as ourselves.

The Publican & The Pharisee: The pharisee thanked God that he wasn’t as bad as the publican. The publican simply asked for forgiveness. The moral of the story may seem obvious, but it’s not always easy to take to heart.

The Parable of the Vineyard: Vineyards are typically a serene setting, but when Jesus told a parable set in one, it was filled with murder and thievery. What was he trying to say? And whom was he talking about?

The Parable of the Final Judgement: Jesus spoke of a division that is not merely for this life, but for all eternity. And in his parable about how the sheep would be separated from the goats, we hear a sobering truth about the judgment to come.
