“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6
As I was about to care for a young special needs friend, many questions arose. Will you pick me up on time? Is your car big enough for my suitcase? What will we eat? Do you have a bed for me? I understood that she needed the security of knowing she’d be ok. But after a while I began to wonder what she really expected of me. She knew I was capable of caring for her. What she wanted was to be in charge.
We’re all under our Master’s care, and He certainly has everything under control. Yet I find myself questioning Him in a similar way that my young friend had questioned me. Lord, what happens if…? Are you big enough for…? How can you let…? He is more than capable to handle anything I might face, but I still question Him. It seems I focus on my expectations rather than trust my all-powerful Savior.
Even though I know the Lord is able to provide, my doubts creep in to say, “Lord, what can I expect from you?” He is in charge, always working grace, patience, and goodness for His glory in our lives. We can trust Him fully!
