“Then the angel said to me, ‘Write: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the lamb!’ And he added, ‘These are the true words of God.’”

1 John 4:1
Some people will never marry and find it very difficult to be single. Many women hear the echo of the rather dismal adage, “Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.” For the Christian, that saying is a myth in one important respect: being the bride of Christ is the ultimate privilege.
Throughout time, people have chosen singleness willingly, preferring, as the Apostle Paul did, to remain unmarried in their lives of ministry (see 1 Corinthians 7). The remarkable Sophie Muller was one such saint. Beginning in the 1940s, she started over 50 churches, translated the Bible into countless dialects, and founded a Bible institute in the jungles of Columbia. From age 19 until she died in her 80s, she was active in speaking and ministry.
Sophie Muller knew that Jesus Christ was her all in all. Believers who walk through life alone can know as well that their Bridegroom is calling them. Every one of us who trusts in Jesus can be assured that we are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb. Don’t miss the feast at which our Lord has promised us a place!
