Imagine a 15-foot floating box filled with two weeks’ camp trash powered by an antique, one-horsepower engine zip-tied to the transom. Two miles of coastline are between camp and town where the dumpster is located for the garbage. So why would I volunteer for early-morning trash runs? Any outdoorsman knows wildlife is most active during mornings and evenings. On that slow cruise from camp to town, often we would see schools of fish chased by pods of dolphins. I saw eagles, pelicans, and cormorants diving and swooping on the schools of fish. I could almost hear David Attenborough of the Planet Earth television series narrating the scene. Deer would walk along the coastline as the rising sun sparked a green flash and rose over the channel, illuminating the morning clouds in a heavenly display of God’s artwork. God is present, even on the trash runs of life. His glory fills the earth and His truth cannot be avoided. His presence and dominion are over all the earth. Let the mundane times of your days highlight His majesty!
