“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

Ephesians 6:10-11
When people enlist in the military, they quickly realize it’s not about them. They have attached their life to something much bigger than themselves. Their responsibility is to be prepared and equipped.
As Christians, there is a beautiful parallel we can draw from the enlisted soldier. We too must be prepared each day for the battle that awaits us. We must boldly face the “devil’s schemes.” We dare not leave behind our armor—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and the very Word of God.
But have you ever stopped to think that the One who came to us in a manger thousands of years ago is our Warrior? He came into this world announced by an immense battalion of warrior angels. And as unlikely as it seemed, that little baby wrapped in cloths was already dressed in His battle gear: He wore truth and righteousness; He came as the Prince of Peace; He was the very Word of God made flesh. And as He grew up, never did He falter in His duty to face the enemy, Satan, for us. Our Warrior, Jesus, has conquered sin and death.
