“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.”

Luke 24:27
Technology has unleashed the power of the cell phone. In our pockets we hold more of a computer than it used to take a whole room to contain. The phone has morphed from a verbal communication tool to an information highway, and one study says the average user checks it 110 times a day! When Jesus rose from the dead, He unleashed the information highway of the Old Testament.
It was still Resurrection Day when Jesus walked with two men on the Emmaus road. Like everyone else, they were trying to make sense of what happened. Then He showed them exactly what the Scriptures taught about Himself, later doing the same thing with the disciples (v. 44-45).
The cross and the resurrection open up to us the importance and meaning of the Old Testament. We find whispers of Jesus’ name in the Garden, the Ark, the Passover, the sacrifices and more. It’s revealed through the covenants and in hundreds of prophecies.
May Easter motivate us to reach into the treasure chest of the Old Testament. Read with “Easter eyes” that are set on the Gospel.
