How far would you be willing to travel for an event you’d seen a sign for in the stars? Two thousand years ago, Magi from the East traveled a great distance to worship the King of the Jews. Notice this was not just a visit, but a time of worship. Their study of the stars revealed the immensity of this birth, and they would not miss giving honor to the King of kings. When they saw Him, they bowed down in adoring reverence, offering gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The Magi, who were not even Jewish, demonstrated the very heart of worship with their travel, attitude and gifts.


It may not be a star or even the steeple bell of Scrooge’s day calling you to worship, but God calls us to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Although there is diversity in the way we may worship, it is the attitude of the heart that matters most to God. Let your worship be a sincere gift of time, abilities, resources and a humble heart ready to honor our Lord, not only at Christmas, but all through
the year.
