“Praise the LORD, O my soul… who… heals all your diseases.”

Psalm 103:2-3b
Are you or someone you know suffering physically right now? Our text today assures us that the Lord “heals all your diseases.” Our diseases may be illnesses or weaknesses, but they include spiritual disabilities as well. John Calvin comments that not only has God forgiven our sins, but He also “cleanses us from our corruptions, and restores to us the healthy condition of a godly and upright life.”
In His earthly ministry, Jesus showed His care for sick people. He made the paralyzed and lame to walk again, He caused the blind to see, He healed the bleeding woman, and He raised the dead to life. He is able to heal our physical and spiritual diseases.
In His own death on the cross, “he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;…and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). If you are in Christ, someday
Our Savior will usher you into a new heavens and earth, where there “will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4). [Jude, Manila, The Philippines; second year student]
