"We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what
God has freely given us."
(1 CORINTHIANS 2:12)

1 Corinthians 2:10-12
Francis Chan wrote a book called The Forgotten God, about the Holy Spirit. Although the Holy Spirit is one part of the Trinity, we typically hear less of Him in our churches today than of God and Jesus.

The Holy Spirit was present and active in creation (Genesis 1:2). He was involved in the conception of Jesus (Luke 1:35). He descended on Jesus during His baptism (Matthew 3:16), and then He led Jesus into the desert (Matthew 4:1). He convicts the world of sin (John 16:8) and enables us to be witnesses for Jesus (Acts 1:8). He reveals spiritual truths (John 14:26, John 16:13). He helps us in our weakness (Romans 8:26). If we are true believers, He lives in us (John 3:5-7), and He empowers us to live according to Christ’s commands (Galatians 5:22). Paul writes about wisdom from the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 2:6-16.

Since all Scripture is God-breathed, it is that very Spirit who works in our hearts when we read His Word. Amazing! Take time today to discover the riches we have in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
