“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you will know my Father as well.’”

John 14:6-7a
When our family served as missionaries in both Brazil and South Africa, I would often ask local walkers for directions to an out-of-the-way church. They might say it was close, or they might say it was far. But I learned that if I offered them a ride, we’d find our destination much more quickly. Things often go well when you have someone with you who knows the way.
The same is true in our spiritual walk. Without Christ we travel in a totally wrong direction. Many people today are convinced there are several ways to get to heaven. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” (Proverbs 14:12). When Jesus says, “I am the way,” He is inviting us to walk with Him and Him alone. It is impossible to know the Father who is in heaven unless we join Him on the way.
Knowing God the Father and Jesus whom He sent is more than just picking the right way to live over a wrong way. Anyone can do that. Believing with all your heart that Jesus is the one and only way, truth, and life is your salvation.
