"And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God..."
(1 THESSALONIANS 2:13)

1 Peter 1:23-25
One of the parts of our marriage that means the most to me is our nightly walk. Each night after dinner, we change into walking shoes and head out to stroll past the vineyards and talk about our days. I love hearing about Adrian’s classes and conversations. I share with him my latest ideas that may involve cooking, organizing, or party planning. We speak about our families, church, friends, books, and plans for the future. Our walks and talks are one way I stay connected with Adrian.

In a somewhat similar way, we stay connected with Christ through our daily walk through His Word. It is His gift to His Bride so we might know Him and grow in Him. It is indeed “at work in you who believe” (v. 13b). In the pages of the Word and through the voice of the preacher, Jesus speaks to us. He tells us about Himself, tells us the story of His days on earth, tells us about His character and our unworthiness, and He assures us of His great love for us. It is through the Word that we can know and love
our Bridegroom.
