"'I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing.'"
(JOHN 15:5)

John 15:1-8
As a kid, I used to pick up rocks at the beach and take them home. At the moment I found them, they looked beautiful, wrapped in dazzling color. By the time we arrived home and my stones had dried, they looked plain and unremarkable.
I even thought they were ugly.

My beach stones provide a good metaphor for us and life in Christ. We all comprise a kaleidoscope of remarkably beautiful beings, each of us
designed uniquely in color and shape, worn and wrought by the waters and sands around us. When we are filled with and animated by the Holy Spirit, all of those speckles and spots, cracks and stripes are brought to their fullest and most beautiful potential. Submersed in the Source of beauty and life, we shine for all we’re worth. Without Christ’s redeeming love washing over us, we are quite plain, unremarkable… sometimes even ugly in our character.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
Let’s shine for Him!
