"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers
of mine, you did for me.'"
(MATTHEW 25:40)

Matthew 25:31-40
My Dad, 86, has always been a magnet for the downtrodden. A couple evenings each month you’ll find him playing cards or a slow game of ping pong with some grizzled characters down at the homeless shelter in his town. Each Friday morning he rises at 4:30 to make waffles and coffee for a group of 12-15 men he mentors. Their battered work trucks line his drive for an hour as they fellowship in song and prayer over helpings of simple food served on paper plates in a warm living room.

Imagine the comfort, encouragement and healing taking place in lives shattered by addiction, divorce, prison and poverty. Dad knows his part is not the ultimate solution to these men’s problems. He tries to love them unconditionally and use his gifts of hospitality and encouragement to ease loads, shed light and give hope in Christ.

Jesus is the only answer to hearts ravaged by sin. But what a privilege it is to reach out in His name in the smallest ways to demonstrate Christ’s loving acceptance and forgiveness.
