"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus."
(PHILIPPIANS 4:7)

Numbers 6:24-26
Years of slavery behind them; years of wandering surrounding them; years of warfare ahead of them… Imagine the encouragement inherent in
the blessing Aaron is to pronounce over God’s people: “The Lord bless you and keep you… the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
In the midst of hardship, the Lord gave
His Shalom!

Slavery to sin behind us; difficult circumstances surrounding us; spiritual warfare threatening to defeat us… Jesus knows our circumstances, too, and offers us His Shalom. In the Upper Room, He gave an encouraging promise: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

Life is sometimes very difficult, and we long for relief. We can identify with that wilderness through which Israel walked and with those challenges which Jesus’ disciples faced. We cry out for peace. We, too, can experience the Aaronic blessing and receive
His incomparable peace!
