"...you were redeemed... with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."
(1 PETER 1:18-19)

1 Peter 1:13-20
We are God’s prized possession. He “bought” us, as it were, through the self-giving sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is impossible to even imagine what it cost God to make you and me His spiritual children and full citizens in His kingdom. He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus. I recall a preacher once saying that God bankrupted heaven to purchase us.

God owns those of us who have given our lives to Jesus. As His possession I begin to reckon my worth. I begin to realize how important I am. God paid that unbelievably high price for my salvation. Am I really worth that? Obviously,
I am. Even if I had been the only sinning
person in the entire world, that entire price would have had to be paid, and He would have paid it for me alone. My salvation cost the Trinity more than my limited mind can even conceive.

I am going to be owned by someone, if not by myself, then by another. You will have to admit that this is true of all of us. To be owned by the source of all love is more than we could ever ask or think.
