"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God;
trust also in me."
(JOHN 14:1)

John 14:1-14
While Jesus is speaking to His disciples in this passage from the book of John, He is also “preaching” the truth of God to Himself. He is affirming that the upcoming trial, crucifixion, and death He will face are all part of the Father’s redemption plan for the world. It is for all of this that He left heaven and drew near.

When you share the Gospel with someone, share it as though you are talking to yourself about who God is and what He has done for you. While you speak with your friend, you are reminding yourself of who you really are, retelling God’s promises to yourself, repeating what God has done for you. The best sermons are the ones whose speakers truly preach
to themselves.

Of course, Jesus did not need to convince Himself to believe in God. He went on to tell His disciples that He and the Father were one (see vv.7, 10). Jesus’ Word of salvation carries greater weight than anything else you’ll ever hear. And He guaranteed it through His perfect life lived for us and laid down for us.
