“You, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you… You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them.”

Psalm 10:14, 17
Behind all evil is an intention to diminish the truth of who God is, to devalue what He has made. Satan tried to sow the seeds of that great lie in the Garden  of Eden when the world was just beginning. Jesus could have crushed those who sought to crush Him. But He didn’t, so we could know our value and be assured our Savior is not unfamiliar with human suffering.

Unjust treatment can blindside us and traumatize us. An overwhelming sense of powerlessness and injustice will attempt to swallow us. We struggle to believe any good can come of our pain. We grow angry. Unless we want to be owned by resentment and bitterness, we must, in time, do as Jesus did: entrust ourselves to Him who judges justly (see 1 Peter 2:23b).

We are adopted sons and daughters bought at the price of Christ’s blood. Remember your immovable place and that you were created for godly gain and purposes. On the other side of Jesus’ suffering was the overcoming of darkness. With our lives entrusted to Him, we rest in the same glory one day.
