"Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you should stand
firm in the Lord, dear friends!"
(PHILIPPIANS 4:1)

1 Corinthians 13:1-8
The love between fellow Christians is overwhelming, isn’t it? I have seen this type of love that Paul has here. I have seen it in the eyes of dear Christian friends. I have seen it for me in my times of need. As the hymn by Charles Wesley says, “Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?” It is hard to believe that the Lord really does love us this much. When we consider our sinful ways, it becomes hard to believe that He loves us at all.

The point is that God does indeed love us this much. His love reflected in us by the Holy Spirit enables us to love others as Paul loves the brethren in Philippi. The sinful, corrupt man in me still tries to nag and say to me, “Nobody loves you.” But the newly created man in me, born by the Spirit, tells me “God loves you.”

Never doubt that you are loved by God, or by your Christian brothers and sisters. Look into their eyes, and you will see it. Look to the Spirit, and you will feel it. Look to the Scriptures, and your mind will know it.
