"'I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.'"

(2 CORINTHIANS 6:16B)

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
“Come to me,” are the words of Jesus that I hear in my mind as I climb the path to the top of Mount Arbel. At my back is the setting Galilean sun; on my face a soft breeze blows. Beneath me is a living map, seven miles long by three miles wide. To my left and north, water meets land and instantly my heart leaps when I see it, for there is where Jesus invited the brothers Peter and Andrew to “Come, follow me.”

Above the water on the hillside, wildflowers are tended by their heavenly Father and there Jesus blessed and multiplied the loaves and fishes. My eyes trace the shoreline from Capernaum to the desolate eastern shore where He ordered out a demonic legion and the first Gentile revival broke out. With sunset near, my eyes linger on the fresh water of Kinneret where my Savior walked and commanded storms. Facing south and Jerusalem, He knew He must lay down His life to take it up again for others. As you follow me this month on this journey in Israel, may Jesus speak to and lead you in His way.
