“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6
Some members of the New Life Prison Community church were also members of churches prior to their incarceration. Though Stanley belonged to a church on the outside, it did not have much of an impact on his daily life. “When I got in trouble with the law, I never really thought about God,” Stanley reflected. “I went to church and Sunday School when I lived at home. Then I got married and went to church with my wife and kids. This was my life. But I never thought about God during the week.”

Stanley’s encounter with Jesus in prison has changed everything. He now rises early every morning to spend time in daily devotions and Bible reading. He enjoys reading Christian literature to strengthen his faith. Despite Stanley’s crime and incarceration, his wife is sticking with him, sending books to encourage him in his spiritual walk.

God is transforming Stanley from a Sunday Christian into an everyday follower of Jesus. If you’re a Sunday Christian, let Jesus enter and saturate your life Monday through Saturday, too.
