"The Lord said to Moses, 'How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous signs
I have performed among them?'"
(NUMBERS 14:11)

Numbers 13
Anyone who has walked with God for any period of time knows that humanity is at war in this world. We have an enemy who loves to trip us up and defeat us daily. His insidious ways undermine our confidence in who we are as believers in Jesus. The enemy we face is not much different from the giants Israel confronted as they prepared to enter the Land God had promised to them.

The spies sent into the land saw giants and were terrified. We can’t see our enemy (“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood…” [Ephesians 6:12ff]). But that enemy is no less real, and no less frightening. Yet ten spies compared themselves with the giants and said, “No way!” Two compared the giants with God and said,
“No problem!”

Thank God our victory is secured in Jesus, because “the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:14). We are on the winning side. We really need not fear a
defeated foe.
