"For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose
walk is blameless."
(PROVERBS 2:6-7)

1 Corinthians 1:18-31; Colossians 2:1-3
I read recently of a man who suddenly acquired musical savant abilities after injuring his head in a diving accident. While never serious about playing an instrument prior to the injury, he became strangely drawn to the keyboard and found he could play and compose at a startling level. Though he’s lost some aspects of his good health, he considers that the price tag on his newfound gift and views his changed life
as a blessing.

The various wounds we experience in life often draw us to Jesus to help us (2 Corinthians 7:10), and in Him we find our spiritual life and abilities beyond anything we could have imagined. We may lose the familiar life we were used to, but we gain the incomparable wisdom and counsel of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26), the exquisite mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), the peaceable fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and the unlimited power to overcome our sinful weaknesses (Galatians 5:24; Romans 8:1-4). In short, God makes us “geniuses” at living once we live for Him.
