“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day…”

1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Since I’ve spent the majority of my grown life teaching and preaching, people are surprised to find out that my greatest fear is the same as most people’s greatest fear: public speaking. I did everything I could as a kid to avoid class presentations. If there was an alternative, I would find it. The fear of speaking in front of the class came from a lack of confidence. Always on my mind was, “What if I say the wrong thing?”
Many Christians are also worried about saying the wrong thing when it comes to sharing the Gospel. Especially during the Easter Season, we have the opportunity to tell the story of Jesus Christ. According to Paul, the Gospel we celebrate every Easter is a simple message. Jesus died for our sins; Jesus was buried; Jesus was raised; Jesus appeared. This was the message he preached, and people believed.
You do not have to be a theologian or professional public speaker to share the truth of Jesus. Invite a friend to hear the message this Easter. Say the words, and let the Holy Spirit take it from there!
