“When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.”

Matthew 8:14-15
Jesus was in high demand. Everyone wanted a piece of Him. The sick, demon-possessed, blind, deaf, and paralyzed were brought to wherever Jesus was. If they could just get a touch of His garment, they’d be made whole. They didn’t all necessarily want what Jesus had to offer—eternal life—but they certainly were interested in a free cure.
Then Jesus stepped into His friend Peter’s house, and there a healing was needed, too. Peter’s mother-in-law was down with a fever. An easy enough thing for us to remedy today, but who knows how serious it was then? With only Jesus’ touch to her hand, the fever flew out the door. That’s all He had to do: touch her hand!
Often we get caught up in the urgent needs of our lives. We want a healing, and we want it now. Sometimes, like the crowds following Jesus, we aren’t even interested in knowing Him; we only want what He can do for us.
Do you know He is the Healer? Have you been with Him? Let Him touch your heart so that the deepest healing you need—cleansing from your sin—is done and complete.
