“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 1:6
As the Easter season draws to an end, remain focused on the height and depth of its meaning. The work of Jesus was completed on the cross and then validated and empowered by His resurrection. “It is finished!” and “He is risen!” are the centerpieces and exclamation points of the Gospel.
However, after the resurrection, Jesus spent another 40 days instructing His followers. It (Christ’s work of salvation) was finished, but Jesus was not finished working. He continued to prepare His followers for their mission of taking the Gospel to all nations to build up His church (Matthew 28:19-20). And He is still not finished. After Jesus ascended, He sent the Holy Spirit to empower us for ministry. Now He sits at the right hand of God, interceding for us (Romans 8:34). Paul says “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” No wonder He is called the “perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).
Our God is an awesome God! He is not finished working in us as we bring the good news of the Gospel to others.
