Have you ever felt frustrated by a poor phone line, a bad Skype connection, or no cell reception? I have, especially if it was a very important conversation to me. Now take that mental picture and apply it to your spiritual life. You read God’s Word, but you cannot seem to figure out what God is trying to tell you. It’s as if the connection was bad. Your circumstances blur the promises of Scripture, and you hear conflicting voices.
We all wish for immediate connection with God, just as Adam and Eve had in the garden. Even the Apostle Paul was frustrated with this very thing: “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:12).
We live in a time between the garden and the heavenly city where we will be able to see God face to face. We’ll talk to Him without mediation. We’ll see and hear Him clearly. Until then, though we may not understand everything, we walk with Him, gripped firmly in His love.
