“My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.”

Jeremiah 16:17
Honesty is perhaps the most precious gift two people in any relationship can give each other. Our inner motives as well as our outer actions are all known to God and—thankfully—are constantly cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
When we use dishonesty to get what we want, we only fool ourselves. Politicians, celebrities, sports heroes, and business moguls make light of truth and honesty. They may show us regret for being caught in lies, but rarely would we see contriteness for wrongdoing or a request for forgiveness.
Praise God that there is a better place to look, and His name is Jesus! When He was brought before one of the most powerful and prominent people of the known world, Jesus stopped Pilate short with these words: “In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me” (John 18:37).
Make honesty a permanent part of your relationships, especially in marriage which is itself to be a picture of Christ’s honest, enduring love for you.
