"All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant."
(PSALM 25:10)

Jeremiah 31:1-4, 13
There are days when the path set before you feels too steep to climb. Sometimes even believers think the love of God feels abstract and not enough to see them through. But Emmanuel – God with us – joins us as we scale the steep cliffs of life. What is impossible in our own strength is conquerable in Him.

Recently, my doctor told me I would need to return to chemotherapy, to a room filled with fellow cancer patients receiving treatment. I wept, thinking this hill to climb was too high, too awful. But even in my despair, I could feel my Savior looking on me with kindness. He knew the depths of suffering I’d face… He met a much greater misery for me long ago at Calvary. In the garden before the crucifixion, He too, dreaded what was ahead. Yet for the joy before Him (that’s you and me!), He willingly went.

The steadfast love of the Lord turns our mourning into gladness and gives us comfort instead of sorrow. In His providence, I get to joyfully tell the story of the Savior whose love is more than enough.
