“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Matthew 6:10
Many of those I know who are serving prison sentences will admit that what landed them in so much trouble was a refusal to let God have complete control over their lives. One of the greatest battles in life is the battle over our will. Face it: we were born wanting our own way. The willfulness of even a sweet little child grows through the years into the selfishness of an adolescent and the rebellion of a young adult. Before we know it, our wills can lead to destructive lifestyles, addictions, and convictions. What hope do we have?
When we surrender our lives to the Father and submit to His Word, our hearts are aligned to the DNA of heaven. The Father’s desires become our desires, and we want His reign to invade every area of our life. Once we taste His heavenly kingdom through Jesus, we are impassioned to give Him all the glory. It is then that we want every square inch of this world to be under His control. Today, let heaven invade your heart, and may you trade your willfulness for the will of your heavenly Father.
