"But he said, 'I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also,
because that is why I was sent.'"
(LUKE 4:43)

Isaiah 61:1-3
Jesus wanted people to know about the new thing that He came to establish: the kingdom of God on the earth. It was “Good News,” the best news anyone would ever hear. He wanted to get the word out because all human dreams and aspirations would find their complete fulfillment in this kingdom and in no other.

Jesus, His Father and the Holy Spirit knew that they must pay a painfully high price to make this kingdom a reality. It meant that God must put on flesh as Jesus of Nazareth, live among us, be ridiculed, be condemned to death by His own people and suffer the pain of rejection and death on a Roman cross – all so that our sins could be forgiven and so that we could stand before God cleansed, reborn. Almost as a bonus blessing, we become citizens of something absolutely new on the earth: the kingdom of God!

If Jesus was excited about spreading the Good News that a way is open for human beings to live in the kingdom of heaven now, on the earth, should we not, also, be thrilled that we can live in it?
