"Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night..."
(JOSHUA 1:8)

Joshua 1:1-9
The last six months of Ray’s life-the only months he was ever truly sick-we ended each breakfast sitting together in our living room as I read to him first Scripture and then a chapter from a book we both love, The Valley of Vision, a collection of old Puritan prayers. One portion of a prayer reads:

“O God, the eternal All, help us to know that

All things are shadows, but Thou art substance,

All things are quicksands, but Thou art mountain,

All things are ignorance, but Thou art wisdom,

All things are shifting, but Thou art Anchor!”

Will you take some time to focus on God’s book – the only Book – which God gave us to know Him better and to live by as long as we’re on this earth? Jesus promised, “Not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear… until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:18). Of this we can be sure.

Beg the Lord to open you heart to love it, to open your eyes to understand it, and to open your mouth to pass it on!
