Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.

Psalm 105:4-5
The Swiss police met my husband and son at the airport, took them to a chapel, and told them that our daughter Elizabeth’s body had been found while they were en route. Our adult children were scattered for work and college, so our son came from China to join my husband, and one daughter in northern California went to stay with another daughter in Texas. I remained home with our youngest in southern California. Wasn’t God merciful to wait until no member of our family was alone before we learned of Elizabeth’s death? And He didn’t make us wait any longer than necessary. The police had been searching with dogs, helicopters, and volunteers for four days, yet God closed their eyes until it was time.
We call them “God sightings,” those times when we see evidence of God’s hand in our lives. Look for them in the midst of your crisis. Note the unusual happenings, the answers to prayer, the Bible passage that leaps out. Notice the unexpected friend, the kind word of a stranger, the help just when you needed it. See how tenderly He cares for you.
