"But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say,
'Let God be exalted!'"
(PSALM 70:4)

Psalm 70
A pastor of a church always ended his Scripture reading with the words, “God is good!” The congregation would respond saying, “All the time!” One Sunday morning, he changed the words to, “The LORD is great!” And the congregation sat in silence. They had to think a moment about what their response should be. The truth that “The LORD is great” should give us all pause… and great comfort.

Sometimes God delivers us out of the storms of life. But not always. Even while we are praying, the finances may fall apart, the cancer may take over, the job is terminated, the depression persists.
It is important to know in your head and believe in your heart that even in those times, the
Lord walks with you. Psalm 139:7 asks, “Where can I go from your Spirit?” The answer is – thankfully – nowhere!

Jesus’ love stands firm for us and goes beyond any discouragement, confusion or shame we may have. He went to the cross to prove it. When we look to Him now, how can we help but proclaim with the psalmist that He is great?
