“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine… to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20-21
I have often turned to these verses as a reminder of God’s personal interest in our lives. Years ago I was at a conference in beautiful Mission Springs, CA where two brothers preached on the theme “God is Able!” Through the sessions that weekend we became powerfully aware of the all-sufficiency of God which is not limited or restricted by time, space or human weakness.
Starting with verse 16, we get to look in on Paul’s prayer for his friends in Ephesus. He prays for the indwelling of God in the hearts of believers, that they would be strengthened, rooted in love and filled with the Holy Spirit. Paul longs to see them grasp how immense God’s love for them is. He prays that they would understand the truth that God is able to take any situation life may bring and do more with it than they could ever ask or imagine.
This heartfelt prayer of Paul for the Ephesians is our prayer, too. God is able to take your deep heartache, your dilemmas, your anxiety, your fears and work in them for your good and His glory.
