“He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free.”

Psalm 146:7
In 2012 we changed the focus of the February Anchor editions to address prison ministry. For decades the radio broadcast as well as the daily devotional thoughts have reached the hearts of many an inmate serving time in facilities all around North America. Though readers might have no connection to a life of incarceration, the February Anchor is one of the most well-received. We all resonate with the truth that we’re enslaved to sin until we’ve been set free by Jesus, the One who broke our chains and paid the penalty for us.
Ed Brown wrote the February 2018 Anchor, inspiring many encouraging responses which were relayed to him. He sent back these words of correspondence: “I am writing this to thank you for the notes delivered to me. They all have been encouraging reminders of how the Lord has so lovingly and sovereignly chosen to use me. My only possible response is Soli Deo Gloria!”
Praise God that along with Ed, many who have come to know Jesus through Haven’s outreaches understand that when “the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).
