“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!”

Psalm 133:1
One Christmas my teenage daughter had sweatshirts embroidered with Psalm 133:1 and gave them to each of us in the family. We loved wearing them together. If only the simple wearing of a sweatshirt could assure lasting family unity! The Lord Himself prayed for unity among His followers, praying fervently because of how important and how difficult it would be.
Do you know why it is essential for married Christian couples to live in unity? It’s because the love and unity we display in our marriages is to be a reflection of God’s perfect love to us, His church, His bride. Though He always covers us with perfect love, we often fail to do so in our marriages. But when we live in unity, agreement, and love, we become pictures of how He sacrificed all for us.
And consider this sobering truth: The world has a right to judge whether
Christianity is real or not based on how it sees us showing love in our marriages, in our families, and to fellow Christians. Let unity in your relationships speak winsomely to the watching world.
