"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ."
(ROMANS 5:1)

Romans 5:1-5
Trouble reaches us in many forms: divorce, drug addictions, depression, incarceration, etc. No one likes to go through trials, yet no one is exempt from them. Jesus said that we would have trouble in this world, but we are to be of good cheer, for He overcame the world
(see John 16:33).

It’s not easy to take heart when you are in the midst of a life-crushing situation. If the peace of Jesus is absent, things can hardly be worse. When I found myself with a 12-year sentence for the mistakes of my youth, I thought my life was over. Nothing could console me. Then a Christian brother encouraged me to read my Bible. In the Gospel, I began to find peace, that peace that is unexplainable and that only
Jesus can offer. This peace allowed me to find rest for my soul and hope for my future, even behind bars. By trusting in Jesus, I am justified and have peace
with Him.

If you find yourself in distress, remember that through Christ you have peace with God. Faith triumphs over trouble!
