“I have seen a grievous evil under the sun: wealth hoarded to the harm of its owners.”

Ecclesiastes 5:13
When our five sons were young, they loved playing with their building toys and action figures. But they always wanted more of them. They’d continually ask for “just one more guy” or “just one more building set.” I argued that we had enough toys since there were more than could be played with. Finally I asked, “How many is enough?” Our oldest answered with a smile, “One more than we have!”
Jesus told a parable about a man who had so much he didn’t even need to ask for one more. You would expect that He might share or even sell some, but instead he wanted to build bigger to keep it all for himself. Jesus used this parable to note what greed looks like, and He called this man a fool.
Our culture screams to us that we need bigger, better, and more than we have. That pressure may even start on very young children. A greedy heart can easily be fueled by advertising and the temptation to compare with others. True satisfaction, however, comes from knowing Jesus. He alone will guard your heart from wanting “just one more.”
