"May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will..."
(HEBREWS 13:20-21A)

Hebrews 10:1-14
Super-heroes or spies like James Bond seem to have all the gadgets they need to fight evil. But sometimes their gadgets fail and they succumb to the enemy. You know that God calls you and equips you to do His will, but do you worry that His equipping won’t be quite enough? Might it run out or fail and you will be caught by your enemy, the devil?

Fear not, because this blessing assures us that through Jesus Christ He will always equip us to do His will. Did you notice in today’s reading that Jesus is sitting at God’s right hand, not standing? The author of Hebrews is communicating to us that the work of Jesus is not lacking in any way; there is no more work to do; He can sit. We also read that Jesus “has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” “Has made” and “being made” show us both the completion and the process. God is working out in real time what He has already accomplished in eternity. In your struggles with sin, you have even more at hand than a super-hero because you have Jesus.
