“Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.’”

Acts 18:9-10
In my aging years, I see that my faith continues to grow, and I continue to tell others about Jesus. Regardless of the response he’d receive, Paul told the story of Jesus’ miraculous work in his life again and again. Some of those times people committed their lives to Christ and were baptized. Other times people tried to kill him for what he said. In all those situations, the Lord was with him.

Even though we know Jesus is with us, it’s easy to think we’re all alone. For the last 13 years a group of law enforcement officers has met for Bible study with me every Friday morning. Initially, we met at a coffee shop, eight or ten around a table, talking, laughing, sharing, and praying. One morning on the way out, we were approached by another officer. “What’s going on?” he asked. When we told him, he asked if he could join. He thought he was the only Christian officer in the area! Since then he’s been a regular with us and has brought others to our group, too.

Not only are other followers of Christ around us, but God assures us, “I am with you.”
