“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.”

1 Corinthians 16:13-14
If you talk to someone who has been in real front-line combat situations, he will tell you he was scared to death. Yet despite that fear, he followed orders and did his duty. He was strong even in weakness because he knew and trusted the commander giving the orders. That is a picture of courage. Being brave means facing fears, anxiety, and weakness knowing you have Someone greater than you to back you up.
People of courage know they are weak but also are confident that their Lord is strong. One of the great mysteries of life, one that we seem to learn as we grow older, is that out of our weakness and need comes God’s most stunning power and solution to our problems. His grace is sufficient for us to deal with our fears and worries. His strength is made perfect in our weakness (see 2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
Christ was “crucified in weakness” (2 Corinthians 13:4). He went to the cross for us out of love and was resurrected in the power of His Father. So be reborn in the strength of the One who gave His life for you.
