"...'Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow; ...That which is devoted is among you, O Israel.
You cannot stand against your enemies
until you remove it.'"
(JOSHUA 7:13)

Joshua 7
The Children of Israel were on the verge of the biggest change they could imagine. After years of wandering in the desert, they had finally arrived at the Promised Land. The army was ready to go in and conquer the Canaanites, but they needed to change their focus to rely fully on God and subject themselves to His will. Insisting on their own way of doing things was keeping them from enjoying the victory against Canaan that God had planned for them.

Sometimes we become distracted by material things. We have a tendency to think that we bring about positive change in our lives through our own actions. We need to realize that we can do nothing without God. Rather, give Him the full credit and glory, keeping nothing back for ourselves. Our God is incredibly powerful; we have no excuse for putting earthly things ahead of Him on our list of priorities.
When we yield to Him, we can experience the blessings of change that He has planned for us. And what welcomed changes those will be!
