“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food… yet will I rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” Habakkuk 3:17-18

Daniel 3
Therapists and doctors have told me that they cannot promise my ongoing therapy will produce a desired result.
They do promise, however, that if I stop therapy, all progress will be lost. It’s hard to operate under that. As we undergo difficulties but have no assurance of things improving, the command to cast our cares on God (1 Peter 5:7) and trust Him with the outcome can be daunting.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were brought before the king and threatened with death for failing to bow to the golden image. Their response? “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it…. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image you have set up” (Daniel 3:17-18). In the “But even if not…” of their situation, their trust was unshaken.
The One who walked through the fire with these men is the One who died and rose from the grave for us. Truly we can cast all our cares on the Lord, and He will sustain us (Psalm 55:22).
