“Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”

Psalm 145:2-3
Today I’ll get out the 2017 calendar. The old 2016 calendar lies on the dining table, so i’ll ruffle through its worn pages, remembering all the birthdays, camping trips, weddings, and graduations of the past year. I’ll recall the death of a dear friend, Dad’s heart attack, the loss of a job, a child moving away, as they’re recorded on calendar pages that now are part of the past.
We don’t know what the New Year will bring. The Bible tells us that someday Jesus will return to earth. “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see him” (Revelation 1:7). Might His return be in 2017? God has a perfect plan for us, whatever the New Year holds.
Billy Graham said, “Our world is filled with fear, hate, lust, greed, war and utter despair. Surely the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is the only hope of replacing these depressing features with trust, love (and) universal peace…” Know that Jesus Christ came into this world because of His great love for you. Through all of 2017’s calendar events, may you know His peace.
