“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.”

Psalm 84:5
For years I had been wanting to backpack along the Pacific Crest Trail. So on a three–day weekend for our 25th wedding anniversary, Andy and I decided to do just that. We started our hike at the border of Mexico and covered 32.6 of the 2,659 miles. Lord willing, we’ll be able to pick up where we left off and continue our trek now and then. We love exploring and feel especially close to God in nature. I think that marveling at His creation pleases God. Does not an artist appreciate when someone admires his work? “O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8:9)
When we lived aboard our boat as a family, we sailed to some 40 Caribbean islands and keys. We had hoped to go through the Panama Canal and sail across the Pacific to explore the Galapagos, Marquesas, and French Polynesian Islands. There is so much to see and know of this awe-inspiring earth. How much more the depths of our wild and beautiful, eternal God! Following Jesus is an epic adventure, whether we are called to go—or to stay.
