"Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. 'I am willing,' he said. 'Be clean!' And immediately the leprosy left him."
(Luke 5:13)

Luke 5:12-16
“Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” I’ve said something like this in my own heart at times. However, my sentiment has had a slightly different tone. Mine sounds more like, “Lord, you see all this and you could clear this whole thing up in a split second if you really wanted to.” The phrase “if you really wanted to” transparently unearths a place in my heart that may doubt whether Jesus really wants to help me. It plunges me into a resignation that I must need to just learn the hard way. And the enemy’s lie takes root.

Is your Jesus willing? Is He willing to help, listen, forgive, rescue, intervene? Some of us pass through life with the misconception that He isn’t. Things may not go as we would like, but that is not because Jesus is unwilling to come to your aid. He knows better than we do what’s best for us. How could I or any of us ever question His willing love for us? After all, think of how willingly He went to the cross for us, lovingly laying down His life to pay the debt for our every sin and doubt.
