"If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight... then you will find your joy in the LORD."
(ISAIAH 58:13-14)

Isaiah 58
Sundays were always a foretaste of heaven to me when I was in prison. I went to chapel in the morning and spent the rest of the day reading sermons or listening to hymns on the radio. I saw Sunday as distinct from every other day of the week. It was a day to delight myself in God, His Word, and the fellowship of His people.

Not long after my release, I’d been without work for nearly a month and was concerned I’d be unable to pay my parole fees. Suddenly, a job opened up. There was only one problem – I’d have to work on Sunday. After much prayer, I decided not to forsake the assembling of God’s people (Hebrews 10:24-25). That Lord’s Day,
I rested in Christ.

The Lord used that experience to bring a pastor into my life who gave me work, brought me into his own home, and introduced me to a church that welcomed me as a brother in the Lord. It was there that I eventually met my wife. We’ve committed together to setting Sunday
apart from the other days of the week. Will you consider doing the same?
